Three ways to use it

Download an image. The PNG works in newsletters, on social media, and in slide decks. Come back whenever the total changes and download a fresh one; it takes about 20 seconds.

Print an A4 poster. The poster download is sized for A4 and shows a pound scale up the side. Set the raised amount to zero first and you get a blank fundraising thermometer to colour in by hand as donations arrive, which is still the best fundraising visual ever invented for a village hall.

Embed a live version. The embed code shows your thermometer directly on your own website. It updates whenever you edit the raised figure in the code, so your supporters always see the current total.

Why a thermometer helps your appeal

People give more readily to a campaign that is visibly moving. A thermometer does two jobs at once: it shows progress, which reassures donors the appeal is real and working, and it shows the gap, which gives them a reason to act now rather than later. Campaigns that display progress towards a stated target consistently outperform open-ended asks. If your appeal page is a paragraph and a donate button, this is the single cheapest improvement you can make to it.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No signup, no account, no payment, no limit on downloads.

Can I print a blank thermometer to colour in?

Yes. Set the raised amount to zero and download the A4 poster. You get an empty tube with a full scale, ready for the felt-tip pen.

How do I update the embedded version?

The embed code carries your numbers in its web address. Edit the raised figure in the code on your site, or set the new total here and copy fresh code.

Can I match my charity's colours?

Yes. Use the colour picker next to the presets. The colour carries through to the image, the poster and the embed.

Does your appeal page do your appeal justice?

A thermometer helps, and the page around it matters more: a clear ask, a working donation journey, and Gift Aid made easy to say yes to. We build WordPress websites for UK charities that treat the donation page as the most important page on the site.
